I had a great day today.. it wasn't just another Manic Monday.. it was AMAZING!! I love measurement units and I can't WEIGHT to finish out the week! :)

I like your chart! Did your students complete a sorting activity based on the chart?

First we came to the carpet and read aloud the book "On the Scale a Weighty Tale" and then we discussed other items that we know of that are about an ounce, about a pound, and about a ton. We also added some items that would be measured in ounces, pounds, and tons. (For example we talked about how you wouldn't measure a feather using pounds.)
ReplyDeleteThen they went back to their seats and did a sorting activity with similar items to the ones discussed. I chose everyday things that all would have some "schema" about. :)
